Ouarzazate → Skoura palmeraie → Dades Valley
Approx. driving time: Approx. 120 km / 4 hours with walks
A slower southern day, which is the point. Morning among the palms and kasbahs of Skoura, including a walk to Kasbah Amridil if you like historic houses — mud towers, storks, irrigation channels you can hear. The palmeraie is agricultural, not decorative.
Then the rose country of El Kelaa M’Gouna, where the harvest in spring scents the whole valley, and the sculpted rocks of the Dades gorges. The road folds through red cliffs that look arranged. We stop where the light is good, not where a flag is planted.
Overnight in the valley with time to walk above the river before dinner. This pacing is used on 4- and 5-day desert tours so Todra and Merzouga do not collapse into a single exhausted afternoon.
