Marrakech is the classic starting point for private Morocco tours. From here, the High Atlas, Ait Ben Haddou, the Draa and Dades valleys, and the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga are all within reach on well-paced desert itineraries. Longer journeys continue north to Fes, Chefchaouen and the Atlantic coast.

Most guests choose a 3- or 4-day Sahara circuit, then add Essaouira or the High Atlas. Longer private Morocco tours from Marrakech continue to Fes, Chefchaouen and the coast.
The classic southbound road crosses Tizi n’Tichka to Ait Ben Haddou, the Dades and Todra valleys, then Erg Chebbi near Merzouga. Two-day trips stop at the smaller dunes near Zagora. Northbound itineraries reverse the desert and finish in Fes.
Plan 3 days for Merzouga if you accept long drives; 4 days if you want a calmer Sahara. Six to eight days fold in Essaouira or Fes. Ten days and more are grand circuits, not desert sprints.
Every itinerary is private. Tell us your dates and we will match driving days to your energy, not to a coach timetable. Related reading: all private Morocco tours and day trips from Marrakech.

Plan a trip from Marrakech
By road it is a full travelling day broken with stops — typically 9–11 hours of driving spread across a 3-day itinerary, not a morning transfer. Anyone promising Erg Chebbi as a Marrakech day trip is selling a different landscape.
Choose 3 days if dates are tight and you tolerate dawn starts. Choose 4 days if you travel with children, prefer a morning in the dunes, or want a kasbah night as well as camp. We can mix both.
Yes. Atlas Mountains, Ourika, Agafay and Essaouira day trips pair well with a later Sahara departure. Tell us your hotel nights in Marrakech and we will sequence the week.
We add tours constantly. If you have extra days, children, or a wish to skip the camel, write to us.
